I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DENTAL PRACTICE!!!!

My family and I have been going to Letiza Dental for years. Since we usually only get our teeth cleaned we always overlooked how rude several of the employees that work there really are. I experienced the same type of service as mentioned from T.A. on 6/1/11. I was running late due to a car accident and I know they really hate it when your late so I took a proactive approach to let them know I'd be late. The person at the front desk (Peggy) said well we're really running out of time how much longer. I said, I'm not that far it depends on how long the road would be blocked. She went on to say I was suppose to be there 15 min. before my actual appointment. I didn't appreciate her tone so I said, If you want I can just cancel my appointment if it's a problem. I told her that I made this appointment 6 months ago, got reminder card, wrote it in my appointment book, got reminder postcard, put it on my fridge, got a reminder call as well as a reminder text message (overkill if you ask me) and that my appointment wasn't at 6:45pm but rather 7pm. When I arrived I was furious to find no receptionist ( I had a few choice words to share with her ) the hygienist took me in and I expressed that I think this will be my last appointment when she asked me to fill out my address on a reminder postcard and tried to schedule an appointment.

The straw that broke this camels back leading to my decision to long provide them with my business. I was in-between jobs and changed insurance providers. In the meanwhile my son and spouse both went to separate appointment. I completely forgot to provide them with the new information and when I received a letter from the insurance company asking for reimbursement for paying the bills in error when my coverage expired. I advised Letizia Dental by scanning and e-mail. I received no reply. A month later I see they reprocessed the claim under my new insurance company. About a month later I received a second collection letter. Again, I fax the 2nd letter as well as the explanation of benefits for the claims from the new insurance company. Again, no reply. My daughter had an appointment so I sent a copy of the paperwork with my daughter who handed it to the dentist. Still no reply. A couple of appointments later I realize I haven't received any explanation of benefits leading me to believe that they haven't been putting in any recent claims because I probably have a credit balance. I also realize I haven't received a statements. I called the office and spoke to the new office manager Michelle who proceeds to tell me that they have no intension of repaying that they are well within their legal rights. I expressed I felt it was unethical and that it was poor business practices. I also express that I would put in a complaint to the BBB. I feel that this is insurance fraud and is one of the reasons insurance rates keep escalating.
